Josephson diode effect derived from short-range coherent coupling

Typical superconducting materials have both time-reversal symmetry and inversion symmetry. Devices that break these symmetries are expected to exotic phenomena such as the diode effect, which can provide lossless rectification. Here, we present a device comprising one Josephson junction coupled another exhibits effect. We show observed effect be controlled non-locally based on phase difference of adjacent junction. These results indicate spatial-inversion broken by coherent coupling an junction, this enables engineering mediated interaction among junctions.
